  16. while vacationing in Spain. Thrust onto the throne following
  17. his disgraced father's abdication in 1951, Baudouin was a unifying
  18. force in a nation deeply divided by language and culture. Since
  19. he and Queen Fabiola have no children, this largely ceremonial
  20. post falls to their nephew, Prince Philippe.
